Educational Goals
The objectives of this lesson are:
- To present and develop the basic concepts and principles of organizational behavior.
- To demonstrate the opportunities and possibilities offered by the application of the principles of organizational behavior in businesses.
- To develop the theoretical background regarding the study of the behavior of individuals and groups in the workplace.
- To present the effects of human behavior within businesses.
- To study behavior to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- Present the fields of application of organizational behavior.
- Understand the concept of intelligence and its importance in the workplace.
- Recognize personality models and theories and explain the factors that determine the formation of personality.
- Understand why different people perceive the same stimulus differently, and explain how perception affects a person’s decision-making process.
- Recognize positive and negative behaviors at work and understand their importance.
- Know the effects of work stress, the factors that affect it and the ways to deal with it.
- Understand the concept of learning and human resource development through effective training.
- Describe how groups influence individual behavior and identify the main factors that influence the behavior of a group of people.
- Understand the sources and causes of conflict, as well as recognize the appropriate way to resolve them.
- To recognize the importance of communication within an organization, as well as to indicate ways to improve it.
- Describe the skills that an effective leader should have.
- Recognize the importance of trust between leadership and employees.
- Know the importance of changes in organizations, as well as the ways to deal with resistance to them.
